Apple has just released updates to iOS, OS X, and whatever that name you give to the Apple TV operating system.
For Apple’s mobile devices, iOS 8.1.1 is a minor update to last month’s rapid iOS 8.1 release for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The beta version of iOS 8.1.1 was released for developers shortly after that. This new update improves the performance and compatibility for older, A5 processor devices like the iPhone 4S, iPad 2, and the 5th generation iPod touch. Its support page here.
On the desktop and laptop side, the first update to OS X Yosemite is out, now at version 10.10.1. The short of it is that this patch fixes the WiFi connectivity and performance issues faced by Macs after the Yosemite update. The full changelog below:

Finally, the Apple TV also received a minor, software version 7.0.2 update that doesn’t offer any change in the user interface, but instead just fixes minor bugs and performance issues. More here.
As always, remember to backup any essential files prior to updating these machines. For iOS and Apple TV devices, go to Settings > General > Software Update, while on a Mac, the update will be waiting for you in the Mac App Store.
