WhatsApp Web page

Seven months after Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, and even Nokia S60 received this feature, WhatsApp Web is finally beginning to roll out to iOS devices. WhatsApp just updated its ‘Web’ page, now with a new iOS badge to acknowledge the support. Oh yeah, Nokia S40 has also been added to the list of supported platforms.

On each of these badges, it’ll briefly guide you to how to get WhatsApp Web set-up. For iOS, simply launch WhatsApp, go to Settings, and select WhatsApp Web.

WhatsApp-Web-iPhone

This is just fresh out of the oven; one of the first reports was found at the Apple Subreddit where a lot of folks have yet to get this feature available to them. If the page is any indication, it requires the latest version of the app, and not something WhatsApp could push automatically. Anecdotally, Paul has got WhatsApp Web on his iPhone 6 Plus already, whereas my WhatsApp on the iPhone 5 hasn’t got any updates available at the time of writing.

However, if you’re the impatient type, you could try to backup your chat logs to iCloud (it’s in the Settings too), uninstall-reinstall WhatsApp, and restore the chat logs. Some have reported (in the same Subreddit) that it worked for them. Visit https://web.whatsapp.com/ to get started.

Update (2:40pm): Try quitting the app (double-press Home, swipe up), and relaunch it to get the option.
