The Facebook Creative Labs team have rolled out a new app that is not meant for anyone and everyone. This new app is specifically meant for the who’s who of our society especially for those who command an audience.
Facebook confirms that there are over 800 million people who are connected to public figures on its network. Interactions between athletes, musicians, actors and other public figures are more than a billion a week. This is why Facebook started working on Facebook Mentions for these public figures to get in touch with their fans.
These are some of the features that are available on Facebook Mentions for the public figures:
- Ability to talk to fans and each other on the go.

- Share stories, post updates, share photos or videos, and host live Q&A sessions.

- Join popular conversations on Facebook.

- Get streamlined notifications about activities on shares which include mentions from other influencers.

Facebook Mentions is only available on iOS for now and only people with verified Pages would be able to access the service. Facebook will be rolling out the service to more countries and verified Profiles in the future. Verified Page owners can request access directly and public figures can simply download the app and request access from there.
